Welcome to the web site of the Church
of the Holy Cross! We are an Episcopal parish in union with the Diocese
of South Carolina and the Anglican Communion. Catholic and orthodox
in our theology, grounded in Scripture and tradition, we hold to
the clear teaching of the Christian faith as it has been handed down
through the centuries.
It is a pleasure to serve this pastoral size parish just two miles
west of Shaw Air Force Base and twenty-five miles east of Columbia.
Our approach to ministry is Eucharistic centered, relationship
oriented, and focused on our duty to God. This makes us unusual
in the current climate of our culture and the modern attitudes
towards worship. Our service is traditional and reverent, but not
stuffy; we take the great commission of making disciples seriously.
We also believe it is important to instruct and equip our youth
with the tools necessary to build a solid Christian worldview.
It is important to pastor and nourish all parishioners to build
a healthy and vibrant community that welcomes all people.
I invite you to come and worship with us. Experience
the Holy Spirit at work with the people of God. These are rough
times socially, culturally, and politically. We also understand
the stress families experience in our 21st century culture. However,
at Holy Cross, we seek the joy which God has given to us through
his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
